Spring has arrived and the days are brighter and longer and this can mean to a lot of us a new burst of motivation.
How do we keep this motivation which we have at the start of a new season and maintain it?

Firstly, you must remember motivation will not always be there.
I do not worry if I am not motivated, and neither do I question it or try and find it. I don’t try to re create it or wait for it to show up because motivation is meant to be fleeting. It is what gets you started and it is meant to ebb and flow throughout the year.
Consistency is the single biggest tool you have in your tool box and when you have the consistency as part of your weekly routine, you no longer need to wait and see if you feel motivated. You don’t need to feel driven; you don’t need to be full of energy and raring to go, it’s just your daily and weekly norm.
You can literally do anything you want, and you can do it well if you master the art of just doing it. Identify what has previously stopped you and prepare better so it doesn’t keep happening. We all have bad habits that threaten to get in the way of staying fit and healthy, and it is about realising what they are and learning how to change them.
If you are always tired, can you go to bed a little earlier? Are you drinking 2-3 litres of water every single day?
If you want to exercise in a morning but feel disorganised, maybe lay out your clothes the night before.
If you are always thinking about food, the chances are you are eating too few calories and too little protein, this is where I can really really help!
The meals I make are quick, inexpensive and they work. I consistently eat similar foods as again they work.
I always ensure I move a lot daily but if I can’t due to commitments, I ensure one day of inactivity doesn’t become two or three. The same with food, one bad meal doesn’t make you fat just like one healthy meal doesn’t make you thin.
Consistently good is better than occasionally great!
I hope you have a great spring, enjoy the longer days and the feeling of the warm sunshine on your body (hopefully) and give me a shout if I can be of any help in nailing YOUR consistency.
